Through our Leapsprogs nature sessions, we provide a safe, welcoming space where children and families can spend time outdoors together, build confidence and feel part of a community.

Our venue is The Hive which is a conservation area with a fully fenced boundary, giving children the freedom to explore safely. The site includes sand pits, Wendy houses, tree swings, natural play areas and covered spaces, allowing sessions to run in all weathers. This setting is central to our work, as it gives children the space to move, explore and learn.

Our nature sessions are for children aged 0–5 and their parents/grandparents/carers and we also cater to any home-schooled children. Sessions are play-based and gently structured due to their age, with activities that support early development while allowing children to follow their own interests. Activities include nature crafts using materials they have found in the Hive, simple drama and role-play based on a story or book theme, yoga and movement, hide and seek, den building, pond dipping, animal care, sensory play and shared experiences such as toasting marshmallows. These activities encourage curiosity, imagination and physical development, while keeping the sessions fun and relaxed.

Parents and carers are encouraged to take part alongside their children. They sit, move, talk, laugh and play together, often in ways that feel very different from home or more formal settings. These shared moments matter — helping a child climb, building a den together, or discovering something in nature side by side.

We are pleased to share that our Nature School sessions are supported by The Norman Garon Trust and The Tudwick Foundation.

Why do we feel so passionate about being able to provide sen sessions?
